Elk Hills Power names Patrick Ramsey as plant manager

        SAN DIEGO, Sept. 6,  2007 – Sempra Generation, a subsidiary of Sempra Energy, announced that Patrick Ramsey was named plant manager of Elk Hills Power LLC, a 550-megawatt natural gas-fueled power plant near Bakersfield, Calif., jointly owned by subsidiaries of Sempra Energy and Occidental Petroleum Corporation.  Ramsey will oversee all plant operations.

        Prior to this position, Ramsey was operations and maintenance manager at the plant.

        “Patrick has 22 years of experience in construction, commissioning, operations and maintenance of power plants,” said Michael Gallager, vice president of asset management for Sempra Generation.  “He is a natural fit for this position.”

        Before Elk Hills Power, Ramsey worked for Duke Energy as the interim plant manager for the company’s Hinds Energy Facility, and as an operations and maintenance superintendent.

        Ramsey, a Bakersfield resident, received extensive power plant-related training at the U.S.  Navy’s Nuclear Power School and served in the submarine service for seven years.
