        SAN DIEGO, Aug. 31, 2009 - The boards of directors of Southern California Gas Co. (The Gas Company) and San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) have declared regular quarterly dividends for the preferred and preference series stock of the companies as follows:

        The Gas Company:
        6% Preferred Series                          $0.375 per share
        6% Series “A” Preferred                     $0.375 per share

        SDG&E:
        Cumulative Preferred 5% Series           $0.25 per share
        Cumulative Preferred 4.60% Series       $0.23 per share
        Cumulative Preferred 4.50% Series       $0.225 per share
        Cumulative Preferred 4.40% Series       $0.22 per share
        Preference Stock (Cumulative)            $1.70 Series $0.425 per share
        Preference Stock (Cumulative)            $1.82 Series $0.455 per share

        Additionally, regular quarterly preferred dividends were declared by Pacific Enterprises, a subsidiary of Sempra Energy (NYSE: SRE), as follows:

        Pacific Enterprises:
        $4.36 Preferred                                $1.09 per share
        $4.40 Preferred                                $1.10 per share
        $4.50 Preferred                                $1.125 per share
        $4.75 Preferred (2 Series)                  $1.1875 per share

        The dividends are payable on Oct. 15, 2009, to shareholders of record on Sept. 10, 2009.
