SoCalGas to Launch Series of Informational Workshops on Solar Water Heating Basics for Single-Family Residences
First free workshop set for Calabasas on Wednesday, May 23

LOS ANGELES, May 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Southern California Gas Co. (SoCalGas) will present a series of free informational workshops about solar water heating systems and the rebates available through the California Solar Initiative (CSI) - Thermal Program for qualifying systems in single-family residences. The first workshop will be held from 7:30-9 p.m., Wednesday, May 23, at the City of Calabasas Civic Center Founders Hall, 100 Civic Center Way, Calabasas.

Attendees will learn the basics about solar water heating technology and the various aspects of the CSI-Thermal rebate program as they apply to single-family homeowner customers. The presentation will be followed by a question and answer session.

A solar water heating system captures the warmth of the sun to heat water and works with a conventional water heater to help it use less energy.
