        SAN DIEGO, Feb. 13, 2008 – The board of directors of Sempra Energy (NYSE: SRE) has approved an increase in its dividend payable on shares of its common stock to $1.28 on an annualized basis from $1.24.  The first quarterly installment of the new dividend is payable April 15, 2008, to shareholders of record on March 20, 2008.
