SAN DIEGO, Feb. 20, 2009 – The board of directors of Sempra Energy (NYSE:SRE) today approved an 11-percent increase in the dividend on shares of its common stock to $1.56, on an annualized basis, from $1.40. The first quarterly installment of the new dividend is payable April 15, 2009, to shareholders of record on March 19, 2009.
