SoCalGas Pipeline Safety Enhancement Work in West Los Angeles to Begin Monday
WHAT: SoCalGas will conduct a routine pressure test on a segment of one of the company’s natural gas transmission pipelines on Sepulveda Blvd., between Wilshire Blvd. and Ohio Ave.
To conduct the test, a section of pipeline will be emptied of natural gas, and residents in the area may notice an odor.
This work is part of SoCalGas’ Pipeline Safety Enhancement Plan (PSEP), a multi-billion-dollar program that tests and updates natural gas pipeline infrastructure in Southern California.
WHERE: Sepulveda Blvd., between Wilshire Blvd. and Ohio Ave., in Los Angeles.
WHEN: Mar. 20 at 7:30 p.m. until Mar. 21 at 5:00 a.m. SoCalGas may extend work hours, if necessary, due to unforeseen circumstances.
IMPACTS: Local lane closures are expected. Customer service interruptions are not anticipated. Residents may smell the odor of natural gas, which is normal when crews are working, and hear minimal activity-related noise.
SoCalGas’ top priorities are to work safely and provide the communities it serves with safe and reliable natural gas service. For further information: SoCalGas, 24-Hour Media Line: 213-244-2442, www.socalgas.com/newsroom, @SoCalGasNews
