SoCalGas Opens New Community Resource Center In Porter Ranch Town Center
LOS ANGELES, Dec. 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas) today opened a new Community Resource Center in the Porter Ranch Town Center, as work continues to stem the flow of natural gas from a leak at the Aliso Canyon Storage Field. The center will offer guidance on securing temporary accommodations, how to file a claim, and how to get free home air filtration and weather stripping to reduce odor. The Community Resource Center will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends. It is located at 19731 Rinaldi St., just south of Ralphs grocery store in the Porter Ranch Town Center. "We know that this situation has been frustrating and confusing for many families in the Porter Ranch community, and we apologize. Our new Community Resource Center will provide another way for them to get the information they need," said Gillian Wright, vice president of customer services for SoCalGas. "We share everyone's concerns about this leak's ongoing impact on the community and the environment, and we are working as quickly and as safely as possible to stop it." Work continues to stem the flow of natural gas at the storage field. Work began Friday, Dec. 4, to drill a relief well that will enable SoCalGas to pump fluids and cement through the relief well into leaking well to stop the flow and permanently seal it. The relief well drilling process is expected to take three to four months.
