SoCalGas honored by EPA as 2015 ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year

LOS ANGELES, April 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has recognized Southern California Gas Co. (SoCalGas) with a 2015 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year – Energy Efficiency Program Delivery Award for its outstanding efforts to increase adoption of energy-efficiency products among its customers. SoCalGas' accomplishments were recognized today in Washington, D.C.

SoCalGas, an ENERGY STAR partner for many years, is being honored for its work to promote the energy-efficient ENERGY STAR-certified products through comprehensive outreach, education and marketing programs.

SoCalGas offers its customers support and a number of incentives to assist them to conserve energy. This is done through the more efficient use of natural gas, a clean energy source that is good for the economy. Over the last 22 years, SoCalGas' energy efficiency programs have helped its customers take the equivalent of more than 526,000 cars off the road. In that same period of time, the utility's residential business and industrial customers have saved more than 505 million therms and reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 2.5 million metric tons.
