SDG&E Announces New Authorized Payment Centers At Local Kmart Stores

SAN DIEGO, July 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) is helping to provide customers with greater convenience by announcing select local Kmart stores throughout San Diego County will now accept and process SDG&E utility payments. 

"With these additional payment locations, we hope customers find added ease with a one-stop-shop for their necessities and the convenience of an on-site payment center," said Caroline Winn," vice president of customer services for SDG&E.

The new authorized payment locations will be open 7 days a week from 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Customers interested in paying their SDG&E utility bill at one of the participating Kmart stores should be advised of the following:

  • Acceptable payments include: cash or a pin-based debit card (checks, money orders or credit cards will not be accepted).
  • Customers must have their 11-digit SDG&E account number to complete their transaction.
  • There are no transaction fees.

Customers who are interested in managing their account online can log on to SDG&E's My Account, an online one-stop-shop providing innovative tools and resources.

By signing up for SDG&E's My Account, customers can pay their bill; determine why their bill is higher or lower during the month; sign up for Reduce Your Use event day alerts; and view energy-usage graphs for both gas and electricity use.
